It's That Time Again

By Patrick Tonkinson

Well what do ya know. It's Haloween night, and I can't sleep. So tonight I shall write me a rant about the upcoming election, something 20 times scarier than any little bastard kid I have to hand candy to tonight... So anyway I was watching the news and they're showing all these lil statistics of theirs. Apparently this ones gonna be a close one, almost as close as the one 4 years ago. And it brought me to thinking. Who would I vote for if I could vote this time around. On one hand there is the flip flopping bastard who tells us he has a plan, he has a plan, oh boy does hehave a plan. He just want tell us anything about the plan. Sure he shoots vague missiles of intelligence here and there... but doesn't really stand strong as a good leader.

Than on the other hand we have Bush. Now I mean this guy, some of the nerve this dude has. Though seeing some new articles from < a href=factcheck.org>Factcheck I have discovered I have had this guy a bit wrong. Sure he has fucked us over. But recently he has been fixing things a little. Not very well, but a little. I still despise his morals on tax breaks. I mean he gives peope tax breaks if they give jobs away to non-americans. How fucked up is that, but that's something for Matt to cover in economic rants. So I just have a great distatste for this guy. I couldn't stand four more years with the bafoon. Call me a liberal, I don't give a shit about your meaningless labels. If me not wanting to die in war makes me liberal, than I'll be liberal. (Although technically that'd make me Pro-Life which is conservative.)

Anyway this brings me to the whole war thing, which, frankly, scares the shit out of me. Now we all know the rumors of a draft are just rumors.... for now. Though when I turn 18 in two years I'm sure it'll be very much so real. Not to mention me or my parents couldn't really afford to pay out of the draft. I mean the only difference in who wins this election is where I'm gonna be shipped too. If Bush wins I'll be going to Iran, Pakistan, Nafigastuweastan(made up country), or maybe Canada. We can't tell yet. Bush'll be havin a blast in his safe little ranch in texas, scoffing the grunts, erm troops, in all 25 of his wars. It'll be like a reallife version of risk to him. And I've heard he's never won risk either. But if Kerry is elected I'm pretty sure I get to only choose from Iraq or Afghanistan, since he isn't as much of a dumbass as Bush. And maybe, just maybe, under Kerry, the equilibrium will be a little stronger in iraq, and there want be a need of a draft. Lets just hope that's the case.

Which brings me back to the subject of voting. Apparently there is a debate about wether we should choose winner by popular choice or electoral college choice. Knowing them sneaky bastards in the Bush campaign they is gonna go with whichever one they win. It would be rather quite ironic if Kerry won electoral vote, and Bush Popular. Than suddenly somehow supreme court, ran by the vice president, for some strange reason decide they should go with popular vote this year. Wouldn't that just start a mob or two. I mean man, ughh politics these days. Sometimes I think it would just be easier with a dictator. Just as long as it wasn't Bush. (Goergy once said something along the lines of "Sure a dictatorship would be easier, just as long as I was dictator." which really pissed me off...)

So if you're a teenage able to vote for the first time, or a parent with kids between the ages of 14-18, make the right decision this year. Save them from the draft, and make your vote count, vote for me, and all of us other unrepresented teenagers. Vote if you can. Nader 2004.... Erm... no I mean... Kerry 2004. Fuck I don't care if he flip flops, as long as its about which plan to follow through with and not which country to invade next. So listen to Springsteen, Eminem, and DeCrappyHo and vote Kerry, the lesser of two evils. Unless you want to listen to Jessica Simpson, she's supporting Bush. Don't you just wanna vote for the same guy as the blonde millionaire with the IQ as a elementary retard... I know I would...

... that's all folks...

The End
